This week we’ve:

✍️ Writing – Started our new genre of diary writing. We’ve looked at the key features and added these to our toolkits, compared different diary entries, and worked on uplevelling one to include all the features.

➗ Maths – Focused on place value of numbers up to 10,000,000. We’ve placed these on number lines, ordered and compared them, and practised calculating with powers of 10.

📖 Guided Reading – Continued reading Room 13, exploring key vocabulary and practising retrieval and inference questions.

🌍 Geography – Began our new topic on coasts by comparing different coastlines in the UK, looking closely at Blackpool and the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.

⚽ PE – Got started with our indoor fitness sessions and outdoor football lessons.

📌 Reminders

🧥 As the weather turns colder and wetter, please ensure children bring a coat to school every day as we’ll always try to get outside when we can.

📚 Boom Reader is now up and running for everyone – this is where all home reading should be recorded. We ask that children read at least 3 times per week and log it here.

✖️➗ We are having a big focus on times tables across school, so please encourage children to use TTRS at home to build their speed and accuracy. If you need login details for either platform, just let us know.
