Weekly Update

AU1 WK6

We've enjoyed a slower pace in Year 3 this week.

We really enjoyed painting all afternoon in art on Monday, practising the different strokes and techniques ready for next week when we create our own representation of John Dyer's seascape. We'll be sharing photos once they are finished!

In Science, we completed our light unit by learning about the size and shape of shadows and making shadow shapes on the wall. We are looking forward to starting our new science topic on forces next week.

We moved on to learning about the Iron Age in history this week and looked at how the introduction of iron really helped the Celts with their daily lives. We also learnt about Iron Age houses and hill forts but decided we still would not have liked to live in the Iron Age because of the toileting situation!

In MfL we learnt how to count to 10 in Spanish and played games using our new knowledge. In computing we've been looking at magazine design and learning about different fonts to use on the front cover.

Tooth-brushing club is still going strong, every afternoon, and the children love showing off their sparkly teeth. I'm sure the school nurses will be thrilled with our progress when they visit in a few weeks.

This week's year 3 special mention was awarded to Bailey for his speedy and accurate mental work in maths. Well done Bailey!

Have a lovely weekend everybody.
