Children

End of Summer 2 Week 3 Messages and Updates

Y5 have had a great week this week. They have worked extremely hard all week to complete their summer term assessments and we couldn't be more proud of their efforts.

We have also managed to finish the week with a bang as we ran our summer fair on Friday afternoon which was another roaring success.

Notices:

Next week the children are back to a more normal timetable with a few lovely extras dotted throughout the week - we have our final Tech She Can lesson on Wednesday which will be followed by the Y6 leavers assembly.

With the warm weather looking to continue, please ensure that your child is wearing suncream before school, has a hat/cap and a full water bottle when they arrive at school each day.

Next week, the children need their P.E. kits on Monday and Thursday although we do ask them to be in school all week if possible. Earrings should be removed before school please. Please ensure children have a suitable outdoor kit on Monday (white t-shirt, a warm jumper, jogging bottoms and trainers).

Next week's learning:

- In maths, we will start looking at converting between units of measurement.
- In English, we will start writing our own pieces of persuasive writing.
- In reading, we will practise answering questions around our novel - Floodlands
- In geography, we continue our local study unit of work by looking at how Rawmarsh contributes towards global warming.
- In design technology, we will start designing our own electrical systems for inside our security lights.
- In music, we will continue our song 'Dancing in the Streets'.
- In P.E., we will continue developing our skills in rounders and outdoor adventurous activities.
- In P.S.H.E., we will continue our unit of work around developing a healthy lifestyle.
