This week, Year 5 continued their Design & Technology project on bridges. After researching a range of famous bridge types and the features that make them strong, the children worked in groups to design their very own bridge structures.

Each team chose different features to focus on—such as trusses, arches, suspension cables, or reinforced bases—and discussed how these elements could improve stability and strength. They sketched plans, shared ideas, and collaborated brilliantly throughout the design process.

We’re excited to see their final models take shape over the next few lessons.
