End of Spring 2 Week 2 Messages and Updates

What a great week we've had this week! We loved world book day, enjoyed weighing and measuring this afternoon as well as plenty of success in our maths lessons this week. We finished by celebrating our special mentions as usual - well done to Kray, Ella-May and Daisy from 5B and Lola and Hollie from 5M - we are very proud of you.

The highlights of the week included some excellent starts to our discursive texts about whether animals should be kept in captivity; enjoying learning about perimeter of rectangles and rectilinear shapes; exploring lines of latitude and longitude in geography; and weighing and measuring in design technology.

Next week, we have plenty more to look forward to:

In the mornings next week we will be carrying out our termly assessments.

On Monday, we will sit our spelling and SPaG tests.

On Tuesday, we will sit the reading paper.

On Wednesday, we will sit our arithmetic test and a reading paper.

On Thursday, we will sit our second reasoning paper.

In science, we will continue our unit of work on animals and humans.

In design technology, we will be looking at designing our own flatbreads, looking at which ingredients we would like to add in order to add a unique flavour to our creations.

In R.E., we will be continuing our enquiry on Christianity which looks at how important it is to Christians to believe that God sacrificed his only son.

In P.S.H.E., we will be continuing our unit of work around being healthy with a focus next week on alcohol.

In geography, we will continue developing our atlas reading skills.

In P.E., we will be developing skills in both badminton and basketball.
