As scientists, the Y6 have learnt about the process of classification, how to use and create their own classification keys to sort a range of living things, learning the scientific terminology for them all too.
Our Y6 pupils had another great and important lesson from PC Paul Gray - this time about drug and alcohol awareness, learning about the laws and the risks.
As part of our 'World Book Day' celebrations, both Y6 classes enjoyed being reading role models for the children at our local Infant school, listening and supporting children with their reading and sharing stories too.
The Y6 pupils have been working hard this week to improve, edit and work towards publishing their own narratives, inspired from the class text: 'Pig Heart Boy' by Malorie Blackman. It has encouraged a few of them to start writing their own stories at home too! How wonderful!
This week, the children have started their new Geography project.To build on prior knowledge, they had the challenge of remembering where all the continents and oceans are positions and what they are called. They were pretty accurate too!
Y6 have loved learning about the artisit Banksy - his unique style and the messages that he controversially shares through his work. They have designed their own stunning name tags - graffiti style.
