🌟 Year 6 Weekly Update 🌟

It’s been another busy and exciting week in Year 6 as we move closer to the end of term!

📚 English
We have started exploring our next text type: a narrative with a flashback. The children have been feature-spotting using their toolkits and comparing different examples. In SPaG, we’ve focused on using colons accurately.

➗ Maths
This week we have been adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators—a tricky skill, but the children have shown great resilience.

🏀 PE & Joy of Movement
We continued developing our basketball skills and enjoyed another session with Rotherham United as part of the Joy of Movement programme.

🎶 Music

Rehearsals for our Christmas performance are well underway, and the children have been working hard learning their songs.

🔬 Science

We had a special visit from ElevationX in collaboration with YPO. The children put their electricity knowledge to the test by building electric-powered cars and investigating how far they could travel on a single charge—fantastic hands-on learning!
