Autumn 2, Week 5
This week has been our first assessment week in Year 4, and we are incredibly proud of how well the children have done and how much effort they have put in. We completed our assessments each morning so that the children could continue with their usual curriculum learning in the afternoons.
Science:
We began investigating which materials are the best at insulating sound. The children will be completing the experiment next week.
Geography:
The children carried out a fieldwork enquiry to find out whether Rosehill is prepared for flooding. They also completed a shared write letter to Mr Smith with suggestions for how the school’s flood defences could be improved.
DT:
The children have started designing and making their Christmas cards, which will include moving mechanisms.
Christmas Play:
Rehearsals for the Christmas performance have begun! The children have started learning the lyrics to the songs they will be singing.
RE:
This week, the children explored the meaning and symbolism behind each element of a Christingle and discussed its significance.
Special Mentions:
Congratulations to Arlo C and Leela P (4H) and Grace R and all of 4P (4P) for earning this week’s special mentions!
Always Children
It was time for LKS2’s always children this week so congratulations to Annalise M and Rebeca D (4H), and Lily Sand Oliver W (4P) for their consistent effort and dedication to their learning. A big well done to everyone!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Mr Piper & Mr Hampton
