Weekly Update

Autumn 1, Week 6

The hard work has continued in Year 4 this week but there has been lots of fun to go with it. We have completed our first writing unit; the children have worked really hard on their character description of the Iron Man. In maths, we dedicated a number of lessons to rounding as children worked to understand this tricky concept. We’re proud of the effort they have shown!

In our wider curriculum, I don’t think we’ve ever seen such fantastic jumps from a year group – the challenges were set in PE and everyone rose to the occasion showing their athleticism and competitive natures. In PSHE, we had mini-courtrooms in Year 4 as jurors decided whether the defendant was innocent or guilty based on the misdemeanour they had committed. There were definitely some future solicitors in the room.

We’ve seen some excellent scores in our weekly spelling tests – it’s good to see the children using spelling practice time both at school and at home.

A reminder that next week will see our parent meetings taking place on Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon/evening – please book an appointment via the MCAS app if you haven’t already. Parents/carers of children on the SEND register do not need to book an appointment as these parent meetings will take place on Tuesday 3rd November with booking details to come shortly.

Special Mentions:
Well done to Brody W in 4H, and Grayson S in 4P who were awarded special mentions this week for their hard work and attitude to learning.

Thank you for your continued support and we wish you a happy weekend.
